An Oyster is an item obtained from Fishing (including Fishing Trips) or from Ocean Loot Bags. It can be opened for a chance to obtain a Pearl or a Giant Pearl, used to make Oyster Mornay and Oyster Stew, or sold to the NPC Shop for 750 Coins. Because pearls have a 1/10 chance and can be sold for 10,000 coins, it is better to open all of your oysters to obtain pearls rather than selling them.
Rare Oyster[]
A Rare Oyster or Special Oyster is a rarer version of the Oyster which is only obtained from Ocean Loot Bags. It can be opened for a chance to obtain a Rare Pearl or a Rare Giant Pearl, or can be sold to the NPC Shop for 750 Coins. Because rare pearls have a 1/10 chance and can be sold for 20,000 coins, it is better to open all of your rare oysters to obtain rare pearls rather than selling them.

- In the game's code, Rare Oysters and Rare Pearls are actually referred to as Special Oysters and Special Pearls. However, the images for the Rare Pearl use the term "Rare" (RarePearl.png) whereas the images for Rare Oysters use the term "Special" (SpecialOyster.png).
